My mystery series is set in Regency England—a time when the nobs (people of wealth and distinction) were mad for the waltz, King George III was just plain mad, and Britain battled the “Corsican Monster” Napoleon. The series follows the exploits of a Bow Street Runner, an unconventional lady, and a melancholic barrister—none of whom are nobs.  Published by Poisoned Pen Press, the four novels to date are:  The Rose in the Wheel, Blood for Blood, Die I Will Not and On a Desert Shore.

After watching a BBC miniseries at an impressionable age, I developed a morbid fascination with Henry VIII's headless wives and thus hold them personally responsible for my obsession with all things British. In college I majored in English with no clue as to how I meant to support myself, eventually earning an M.A and becoming an English teacher.  In my spare time I like to read mysteries of all kinds as well as 19th-century novels—the fatter the better.

These days I live in Los Angeles with my husband, a former English major who works in television. We have an empty nest filled by the adoption of two feral cats—one named after Lucy in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and the other called Oliver Twist. Our only child Miranda, named after one of Shakespeare's most idealistic heroines, carried on the family tradition by earning a degree in English and theater studies.

Hello and thank you for visiting my site. I am the daughter of an Italian-American avid reader and an Arkansas farm boy turned oilman. Raised in the Middle East, I experienced a brush with a cholera epidemic and an evacuation from Libya when Colonel Gaddafi seized power.
